Reminders:
-In preparation for International Children's Day, please send in a white t-shirt with your child's name in
-Please send in a washed out, cut in half, plastic bottle

-Monday and Tuesday (8th and 9th of May) school is closed


**Home Learning**
-Please make sure your child brings their home learning folder to school every Friday. 
Their spelling reflection score will be written on the previous week's sheet, please check this with your child to see how they've done.
-Please practice the times tables and related division facts for the 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8 times tables e.g. 3 x 4 =... and 12 divided by 4 = .....

To be able to identify the key features of a non-chronological report.

To be able to write a non-chronological report (linked to the artist we are studying in Art-IPC)


Understanding

        To discuss the effect of using inserted clauses.
        To discuss the features of a non-chronological report and why they might be used.

Mathematics learning outcomes:

 Knowledge:      
        To know the 8 times tables.
        To know the names of common 2D and 3D shapes
        To know the meaning of 'horizontal', 'vertical', 'parallel' and 'perpendicular'

Skills:   
        To be able to answer multiplication questions based on the 8 times tables.
        To be able to identify horizontal and vertical lines and pairs of perpendicular and parallel lines. 
        To be able to identify 2D and 3D shapes
        To be able to describe how many faces, edges and vertices each 3D shape has
        To be able to subtract by using the column subtraction method

Understanding:  
        To explain or demonstrate the terms 'horizontal', 'vertical', 'parallel' and 'perpendicular'
        To coach another child in how to use 'borrowing' when carrying out column subtraction

Skills:   
        To be able to talk about works of art, giving reasons for their opinion

Understanding:  
        To talk about the style in which an artist paints and suggest reasons for this.
