Week beginning 21st March 2016

Milk, butter, cheese and milk shakes!! No it's not a party but rather hands-on science investigations this week.

We are all looking forward to dancing in Tuesday's performance for the local schools and parents with small children. Then again on Thursday evening for the parents.  Don't forget the times are 9am [Tuesday] and 7pm [Thursday].

Literacy learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

To know the main features of a report.

Skill:

To be able to read a text.

To be able to find information in a text.

To be able to discuss a text.

To be able to take notes of the main points when researching.

To be able to make and share an oral presentation of information.

Understanding

       To explain how to write a report.


Mathematics learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

To know the division facts of 3, 4 and 6 times tables.

Skill:

To be able to find fractions of shapes and numbers.

To be able to convert pound to pence.

Understanding

       To explain how to find a fraction of a number.


International Primary Curriculum (IPC) learning outcomes:

          Unit: SHAKE IT  Theme: CHANGES

Knowledge:

To know how cream and butter are formed.

To know some examples of irreversible changes.

Skill:

To be able to record observations and findings when investigating how milk turns to cream and cream turns to butter.

To be able to make predictions about an investigation [can we change milk to butter?].

Understanding

      To explain why many people drink milk as part of a healthy diet.
