Reminders:
-In preparation for International Children's Day (Friday 26th May), please send in the following by Friday 19th May: 
-a white t-shirt with your child's name in
-a washed out, cut in half, plastic bottle
-a washed out juice/milk carton

Children's Playback:
-Saturday 13th May 
-1pm in the school hall, everyone welcome to come along and watch

**Home Learning**
-Please make sure your child brings their home learning folder to school every Friday. 
Their spelling reflection score will be written on the previous week's sheet, please check this with your child to see how they've done.
-Please practice the times tables and related division facts for the 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8 times tables e.g. 3 x 4 =... and 12 divided by 4 = .....

Mathematics learning outcomes:

 Knowledge:      
        To know the 8 times tables.
        To know how to use the grid method to multiply 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers 

Skills:   
        To be able to use the grid method to multiply 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers
        To be able to double numbers to 50 using partitioning
        To be able to halve numbers to 100 using partitioning
        To be able to subtract by using the column subtraction method

Understanding:  
        To coach another child in how to use 'borrowing' when carrying out column subtraction


IPC - 'Let's Plant It!'

Knowledge:      
        To know of a famous artist

Skills:   
        To be able to talk about works of art, giving reasons for their opinion
        To be able to draw a picture of a flower using close up observations
        To be able to make colours lighter and darker by mixing paints, to represent shades of light
        To be able to paint an abstract painting of a flower that uses shading

Understanding:  
        To talk about the style in which an artist paints and suggest reasons for this. 
        To explain their own work of art; what they have done and why
