Week 5

Plants, plants and more plants... This week we will be learning about how fruits and vegetables grow. We will also be planning and carrying out an investigation to find out the best conditions for plants to grow well. 


An engaging week ahead. Please read on for more specific learning outcomes.

Literacy learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

To know the different features of instructional texts

Skill:

To be able identify the verb and adverb in each step

To be able to follow a set of instructions carefully

To be able to write a simple set of instructions

Understanding

To discuss and share thoughts about when and where you would need to make or follow instructions.


Mathematics learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

To know the 3 and 4 times tables. 

To know the names of 3D shapes

Skill:

To be able to count in groups of 2, 5, 3, 4, 10 and 20. 

To be able to describe 3D shapes

Understanding

    To share and discuss shapes we find in the classroom and local environment

Knowledge:

To know about the structure of a plant

To know that plants need food sunlight and water to grow

Skill:

To be able to plan an investigation

To be able to carry out an investigation

Understanding

To share their findings from their investigation
