Week 4

White Bread, Brown Bread, Banana Bread, Naan Bread - what's your traditional bread?  This is the week which sees children in Milepost 2 making bread. We will link this to our International Mindedness Personal Quality and try out best to make a variety of breads from around the world.  

If you would like to come to school, take a small group of children from across the Milepost, and make some traditional bread from your home country please do - let us know.

Literacy learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

To know a famous poet and poem.

Skill:

To be able to recite a poem.

To be able to compare two different poems. 

Understanding

To discuss and share thoughts about a poem.


Mathematics learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

To know the 3 times tables. 

Skill:

To be able to count in groups of 2, 5, 10 and 20. 

To be able to solve word problems. 

Understanding

To explain place value of numbers. 


International Primary Curriculum (IPC) learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

To know about breads from around the world.

Skill:

To be able to use simple tools to make bread.

To be able to follow a recipe. 

Understanding

To explain why different parts of the world have different types of bread.
