IPC Big Question: What is electricity and what makes a good scientist? 

Entry Point
: to capture curiosity we will invite the children to our cinema about electricity. After that the children will explore light and sound through art. 

Knowledge Harvest: We will wonder about the big question and add our own questions. Throughout the Unit we will continue to explore and add information and questions we have.

History Big Question: How have people in the past influenced how the world looks today?


  • Know scientists that are instrumental in the invention and development of electrical appliances


  • To be able to find out about aspects of the past from a range of sources of information

Literacy The Big Question: How can you spark imagination?


  • Know the structure of a fantasy story

Maths The Big Question: How can you get better at estimating?

  • Know standard and non standard units of measurement regarding capacity
  • To be able to estimate and measure capacity in cupful and Litres 
  • To be able to compare and order capacity 
  • Estimating develops through exploring and creating references
