This week was a great learning week in P2.

We enjoyed so many exciting events such as the visit from Chris White, a new Co-operative Learning Structure in Maths and lots of preparing for our assembly!

Match Mine in Maths

The children enjoyed using the 3D shapes on either side of a barrier and giving directions to the other team.
Some directions might be:
  • Place the Cuboid in the top left corner
  • Put the Cone on top of the cuboid
  • To the right of the Cuboid, put the Sphere

They enjoyed challenging each other while practicing learning the names of the 3D shapes, and using their position and direction language.
Can you try this challenge at home using different objects? Perhaps you can find everyday objects shaped like out 3D shapes to use - A tennis ball for a Sphere, A die for a Cube,

In Maths this week, we also focused on practicing our counting in 5s.
Over the weekend, trying to count in 5s as much as possible! Time each other doing things by counting in 5s!

We have been busy preparing for the assembly to be held next week. I hope you are all able to attend.
Each child received their script today and it would be great if you could practice the lines with your child over the weekend!

Have a safe and great long weekend!
