This week as part of our Learning about Learning unit, the children shared some ideas about what they understand, by Knowledge, Skills and Understanding.

We had 3 big questions that led our learning this week:

How can I learn Knowledge?

How can I improve at a Skill?

How can I show Understanding?

We tested our ideas by learning a new word: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

The children brainstormed how we could learn and remember this new word!

The children learned a new skill - Passing a Hula-Hoop around the circle without letting go of each others hands.

The children reflected on how they developed this skill as the week went on. They discovered that as they practiced it more, they became better at it. They challenged themselves, trying and testing different ways to climb through the hoop. They observed others and learned from their observations. They brainstormed ways to adapt the activity to make it even more challenging and improving their skill.

The children are developing their understanding about how they show and develop their understanding in their learning.

- talking about their learning with others
- coaching others in their learning
- explain your learning to others

Please note there is a new timetable. It was given out to each child as well being on our class page.
Our new IPC topic "How are you?" starts on Monday.
