This week we will be getting ready for our whole school performance of Around the World in 80 Days ready for the big  show on Thursday evening.  The children have worked really hard on their dance and it is now time for them to have fun on the stage.  All of the costumes look great and the children are very excited.

In Literacy we will be learning about writing instructions.

To know matching upper and lower case letters.
To know how to write a sentence with basic punctuation.
To know what an imperative verb is.

To be able to participate in instructions.
To be able to write a persuasive sentence.
To be able to join sentences using 'and' or 'because'.
To be able to use an imperative verb in a sentence.

To understand and use imperative verbs.

In Maths we will be learning doubles, halves and sequences and data.

To know how to count in 2's

To be able to count in 2's.
To be able to recognise odd and even numbers.
To be able to recognise a sequence and continue it.

To explain what they are doing when doubling a number.
To understand why it is tricky to halve add numbers.

In IPC we will continue our Freeze It! Unit

Due to rehearsals and dance practice we did not cover the science learning for last week and so we will continue with last weeks Science learning.

n Science we will

To know that scientific enquiry involves asking questions, collecting evidence through observation and measurement
To know what happens when materials are heated or cooled

To be able able, with help to conduct simple investigations
To be able to pose simple scientific questions

To explain what they have learnt from an investigation
To understand that the uses to which materials are put depend on their properties
