This week we will start a new IPC unit, Time Detectives - Finding out about the past.

We will start our learning journey with the entry point, knowledge harvest, the big picture and explaining the theme.

In maths this week we will be:

To know ordinal numbers
To know the number that lies between two given numbers

Using ordinal numbers up to 20/50/100
Ordering numbers to 20/50/100 and beyond
Finding the number that lies between two numbers

To understand and use ordinal numbers

In Literacy this week we will be looking at traditional tales

To know how to write sentence with correct punctuation.
To know a range of descriptive words to describe physical and personality traits of characters.

To write sentences with correct punctuation.
To write sentences about story characters.
To use descriptive words in sentences.

To understand how punctuation helps to organise you writing and makes it easier for the reader to read.

As an entry point the children explored different ways of finding out about the past. 
Activities included: digging for bones, sorting pictures of objects into old and new, research on ipads, looking for evidence in photographs.
