We have had a great first week trialing the new IEYC curriculum unit called To The Rescue. We especially enjoyed the story Supertato! At home this week to continue the enthusiasm and great communication you could lay out some real vegetables for your child to role-play the story with. Peas and a Potato were the main characters, but there were also carrots, broccoli and cucumbers featured! You could draw on eyes or make a little cape for the pea/potato like we did in class. The children extend this learning by changing some of the main features of Supertato to allow them to re-tell the story in their own words and unique style. You could encourage them to create their own vegetable based super hero and super villain and make up a story for you.

Finding some other super heroes and super villains that they don't know about maybe a good activity to support researching skills.

The swimming gala is fast approaching and if possible going swimming once or twice before June 21st will build your child's water confidence and swimming skill.
