Week Beginning 5th March 2018

LEARNING THIS WEEK:

This week we are preparing to say goodbye to the Moonbeams and send them back home to their Home Slime Planet. 
We will focus on the Personal Qualities of Resilience, Adaptability and Enquiry this week.

 
Two Big Questions lead our learning this week:

Do all aliens look the same? and How can we get our alien friends home?

We will:

- Make Aliens:
        Paint them, mould them from Plasticine and build them from junk materials to help keep the Moonbeams company until they depart
- Roll an alien, practicing recognizing shapes and numbers to 20
- Write about our aliens using the sentence starters I am/I have

In preparation for the Moonbeams departure we will:

- build a rocket for each Member of the family
- mix rocket fuel using addition number sentences to ensure we have the correct amount
- measure the correct amount of food for the alien
- make and then enjoy a meal of rocket fruit kebabs with our friends

During their departure we will:
- learn a special goodbye song
- watch the rocket launch with Nursery
