This coming week we begin Learning Block 4; Old and New. We would love to see any traditional toys that you might have at home to show the children at school. We are going to explore what toys we have now that our Parents or Grandparents would not have had when they were little children. We will also look at real traditional toys/antique toys and compare them with the new toys that we have now. The children will practice using their enquiry skills by thinking of questions and sharing their ideas as we investigate.
We will also be exploring toys from around the world. Again, let us know if you have any special toys at home from your home country you would like to show us. In class we have some traditional Russian toys we will examine. Ms Irina and Ms Natasha will talk to us about these toys they had when they were young in Russia and their children also play with them now.

Our Big Question this week is; "What is an old toy?
Our learning this week will help us gradually be able to find many answers to this big question.

Click on the Old Bear to watch a lovely tv episode that is about traditional toys that our Mummies and Daddies would have had when they were little. Which of these kinds of toys do we still have in our homes now?
