Over the next two weeks we begin Learning Block 2; Digging up the past. We will have an exciting week making our own dinosaur bones using salt dough, make fossils by pressing objects like shells and dino toys into clay, role-play as dinosaur detectives by learning use special tools like a magnifying glass and brushes to enquire about fossils we dig up in class. We will also enquire about the shape of different dinosaur skeletons, this will help us to identify special features that different dinosaurs had.

Our Big Question this week is; Why are dinosaur bones useful?

Through our fossil enquiry this week we will begin to gather some ideas to this important question. Here is a kids cartoon you can watch at home to enquire more about what fossils are and how they are formed.

This week we will practice using the Personal Quality Cooperation. The children love to play with particular dinosaur toys, so this week we will practice sharing them and ensuring all children can have a turn.
