We just finished a wonderful first two days back at Nursery! The children have shown so much adaptability in settling back into their routines and classroom. We were excited to have 7 new nursery children come along to their pre-visits on Thursday and Friday. On Friday they were very resilient in saying goodbye to Mummy/Nanny. They joined in with their new friends playing and exploring their new classroom. I have added some photographs of this below.

This week we look forward to beginning our new IEYC Unit called This is Me! We have put the learning letter for this unit in your child's tray at school for you to take home. You can also download the learning letter on the intro page of our nursery blog.
We will have an exciting week starting with an enquiry into the Big Picture of the unit. The children will investigate what different areas we will learn about in the unit using pictures and props laid out in the classroom.

Then we will have our Entry point which is the offical launch of the new unit. We will find a mystery suitcase in our classroom. Again we will use our enquiry skills to observe each object inside and solve who the owner could be!

The next initial stage of the new unit is called Capturing Curiosity (formally The Knowledge Harvest). We will ask the children big questions and the children will practice their communication skills by expressing their thoughts and ideas. They will also have the opportunity to express what their interests are and what they would like to learn most in this unit.
