Week Begining 20th June

We will take part in Block 3 of the Unit this week, which is all about People Who Help Us. We will explore the real life superheroes that help us every day. We will learn about the special roles that these superheroes have like firemen and coast guards etc. We will also have a think about people in our family who help us every day and make a thank you card for them.

The children will practice their skills in Cooperation while they work together to act out life saving scenarios as firemen/women, policemen/women and coast guards.

These are four main learning strands that we are focusing on this week;

Independence and Interdependence

1.15a Playing alone, alongside and with others in a wide range of contexts

Communication

2.6a Using language skills in play situations and a variety of developmentally-appropriate contexts for example role-play, story-telling, giving and receiving instructions

Exploring

3.5a Exploring the roles of people who help us in the community

Healthy Living

4.9a  Exploring movement including walking, running, kicking, skipping, climbing, rolling, crawling, hopping, jumping, sliding, swimming, throwing and catching

Thank parents for coming along and suporting us on our sports day on Friday. Your cheering really helped our little athletes to try their best.

This week try to reflect together on the people in our everyday lives who help us. This could be a nanny, parent, sibling, teacher, driver etc. Discuss how they help us and how we could thank them. For example; saying thank you to them, doing something special for them or making them a card or picture.

Phonics Learning (Afternoon Nursery Kids):

This week’s Jolly Phonic letters are Jj and Xx.

This week we are making the Jj sound by pretending to shake like jelly/jello. At home this week you could make your own jelly/jello to shake while you practice the sound.
