posted 12 Dec 2015, 23:14 by Nursery Teacher 2   [ updated 13 Dec 2015, 16:18 ]

This week in Pre/Nursery we will be exploring seasonal celebrations and the changes that occur in winter weather.

We have also been invited to the whole schools Exit Point for Sound and Light on Wednesday morning, where we will take part in a dance.

The children will have a big focus on Respect, one of our IPC Personal Qualities. The children will experience first hand the importance of respecting different cultures and people through our learning about seasonal celebrations.

These are four main learning strands that we are focusing on this week;

Independence and Interdependence

1.7 respecting and interacting with people who are different from themselves

1.20 the links between school and the wider world

Communication

2.22 singing songs, including songs of their own and those from different countries and cultures

Exploring

3.19 spatial representations such as maps, diagrams, photographs and drawings

On Wednesday the children will have a winter/end of term party in class. We have a sign up form in class for any parents who are able to make some food for the party. Please bring the food at the start of the day on Wednesday so that teachers can have it ready for the children’s party later in the morning. Thank you!
