This week we continue our Food IPC Unit with a special focus on celebration food! We will explore food shared at birthdays & family parties as well as a look at some celebrations from other countries like Lunar New Year and Diwali.

The children will have a big focus on Respect, one of our IPC Personal Qualities.

These are four main learning strands that we are focusing on this week;

Independence and Interdependence

1. 2 Diversity

1.20 the links between school and the wider world

2.25 a variety of types of music, art, dance & drama used as expressions of occasion & culture

3. 20 Stories including myths, legends, oral, fiction and non-fiction

This week at home you can reflect on any special celebrations you have in your family. If you have any photos you would like to share you can email them to patriciahagan.sis@gmail.com

In mornings this week we will have a show and tell opportunity for the children to tell us about special family celebrations they have had; Birthdays, Christmas, Divali, New Year, Halloween, house warming, thanks giving etc.
