We have now come to the end of our Patterns Unit. This coming week we have our Reflection Week. The children will have the opportunity to reflect on all their new skills and knowledge that they have learned from across their Patterns Unit. We have selected a different theme of Pattern focused learning for each day.

We will have our Exit Point this week where the morning children will go on a school Pattern hunt. On Thursday the afternoon nursery children will join P1 on a trip to Sakhalin zoo to search for animal patterns.

The children will have a big focus on Thoughtfulness, one of our IPC Personal Qualities. They will practice talking about and reflecting on their learning in the Patterns Unit. They will have opportunities to choose their favourite learning activities they experienced previously in the unit.

* Our next Unit after Spring Break is Clothes which will be a school wide theme

These are four main learning strands that we are focusing on this week;

Independence and Interdependence

1.16 taking part in group activities

2.17 creating stories and symbols

3.5 playing with ideas and materials as an enjoyable, creative and valid approach to learning

Healthy Living

4.8 expressing emotions and emotional needs

On Friday we will send home the children’s Patterns Reflection Report. We will put it in the children’s trays for you to take home.

Parent/Teacher conferences

Please ensure you let us know in advance if you are unable to come to your Parent/teacher conference. A letter with the time and day of your conference was put in your child’s tray last week with a return slip.

Well done Nursery children for a wonderful performance on Thursday. I'm amazed everyone was so brave up on the stage with such a lardge audience to perform to! You all did wonderfully I am very proud of you all.
