Welcome back Nursery and Parents, Ms Natasha and I are very excited to see you all on Thursday. I hope you had a great summer, we look forward to hearing all about your adventures! We have some new children who will be joining us this year, they will have their pre-visits with us on Monday and Tuesday next week.

This week and next we will start  an All About Me mini unit of learning. This will be a great opportunity for us to get to know more about each other and ourselves. We will practice identifying our name and photo as well as explore our family by sharing a photo of them with the class, identify who they each are and paint a picture of them. We will also role-play families in our Role-Play Centre. We have set up the role play as a bedroom/dressing area for dolls and a kitchen. We will take part in team building and partner games which will help us make friends and get to know each other better. We will look at the similarities and differences between us and learn how special it is that we are all unique. We will practice naming each other, our families and identifying and describing the different parts of our bodies. The children will also explore what their favourite things are at nursery by having the opportunity to rotate around all the different learning centers.

The Personal Quality we will focus on this week is Adaptability. The children will explore the book I Love School together. This book will help us understand more about all the changes that happen throughout the school day and how to practice showing adaptability throughout our day.
Our Big Question this week will be What does it mean to be unique? We will explore this question through all our learning over the next week about ourselves, each other as well as our likes/dislikes.

Home Learning
We will give you an All About Me fact page for parents to complete with their child at home. This will be used to support your child's learning over the next two weeks.
*Please also email a photo of your family and a photo of your child as a baby to Your child can use this photo to support them in their presentation, art work and for their 'class book'.
