All About Me is our big learning focus for week 2 in Nursery/Pre-nursery

 This week the children are learning all about themselves, their families and each other.

The children will explore their family backgrounds, who is in their family and their home country.

They will also practice identifying facts about themselves, their age, home country, favourite colour and likes and dislikes.

Through role-play they will plan and host birthday parties, make birthday cakes in the sand trays and practice counting the number of candles.

These are four main learning strands that we are focusing on this week;

Independence and Interdependence

.        1.6  their family background

Communication

.        2.8  listening attentively and responding appropriately to others

Exploring

.        3.5  playing with ideas and materials as an enjoyable, creative and valid approach to learning

Healthy Living

.        4.7  their own personal worth
